Designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1950, the Eames Moulded Plastic Armchair DAW is one of the most recognisable designs of the 20th century, pairing the sculptural armchair shell with the distinctive timber dowel base.
This example features a white moulded shell on warm timber legs with contrasting black steel cross-bracing. The combination gives the chair a clean, architectural look while keeping the organic curves and relaxed proportions of the Eames design.
A versatile piece that works equally well as a dining, occasional or desk chair, in both contemporary and mid-century interiors. It carries original Vitra / Eames manufacturer markings and labelling.
Born from MoMA’s 1948 International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture Design.
Condition
Pre-owned and in good overall condition for its age, with light surface marks and general signs of use. The timber dowel base shows minor wear but remains solid and structurally sound.
Ideal for
Dining rooms, home offices and living spaces, as well as cafés, restaurants, meeting rooms and reception areas.
