Vintage 'Willow' Armchair - Charles Rennie Mackintosh

The Willow Armchair is a dramatic statement piece inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s iconic 1904 design for the Willow Tea Rooms in Glasgow. With its tall, semi-circular lattice back and black-stained ashwood frame, the chair embodies Mackintosh’s Art Nouveau style while offering a throne-like presence that transforms any interior.

Known for its sculptural, throne-like presence, the Willow Chair has also made appearances in Inception and Star Trek: The Next Generation, securing its place as both a design classic and cultural icon.

Originally conceived as both a functional seat and a spatial divider, the Willow Armchair has become one of Mackintosh’s most recognisable works. This Italian-made late 20th century version captures the sculptural essence of the original, making it ideal for collectors and design-led interiors seeking a rare, conversation-starting piece.
