A rare vintage FM62 lounge chair designed by Radboud van Beekum for Dutch manufacturer Pastoe in the 1980s. The FM62 is known for its strong geometric form, with a cubic steel frame and suspended leather seat and backrest. It has a minimal, architectural look that sits somewhere between art object and functional lounge chair.
This example features a grey lacquered metal frame with black leather sling seat and back. The leather shows age-related creasing, surface wear and patina, which adds to the character of the piece. The frame also shows some signs of use consistent with age.
A collectible Dutch design piece, well suited to a design studio, showroom, reading corner or statement lounge setting.
