A genuine Eames Aluminum Group Management Chair by Herman Miller, released as a limited 50th Anniversary edition celebrating the collection’s 1958 debut. These commemorative chairs carry special anniversary branding on the original tag and are sought after by collectors.
Charles and Ray Eames designed the Aluminum Group in 1958, originally for a private residence by architect Eero Saarinen. Instead of a padded shell, a single piece of upholstery is stretched tight between two cast aluminium side frames, creating a light “suspension” seat that moulds to the sitter.
This one is finished in deep red fabric on a polished aluminium frame, with the classic low-back Management Chair silhouette.
Condition
Excellent pre-owned condition. The frame presents well, with small marks on the arms consistent with age. Upholstery is clean and vibrant, and the swivel is smooth. Each chair may vary slightly.

About Charles & Ray Eames ▾
Husband-and-wife team Charles (1907–1978) and Ray Eames (1912–1988) are among the most influential designers of the 20th century. From their studio in Venice, Los Angeles, they pioneered new ways of moulding plywood, fibreglass, plastic and aluminium into furniture that was comfortable, durable and affordable to produce. They were also architects and filmmakers, known for their own Eames House (1949) and the short film Powers of Ten.

Founded in 1905 in Zeeland, Michigan, Herman Miller became one of the world's most important furniture makers by partnering with visionary designers. Its long-time design director George Nelson brought in Charles and Ray Eames and Isamu Noguchi, and the company later reinvented office work itself with the Action Office (1968), the origin of the modern workstation.
