The EA 330 side chair is part of the Aluminum Group, designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1958 and one of Herman Miller’s most recognisable collections. Instead of a padded shell, the upholstery is stretched tight between two cast aluminium side frames, creating a light, supportive “suspension” seat.
This armless version has its original black ribbed vinyl upholstery on a polished aluminium frame, with a five-star swivel base on glides at a fixed height. The clean, minimal profile suits boardrooms and meeting rooms, or works as a statement chair at home.
The Aluminum Group chair is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
Condition
Pre-owned, in good overall condition. Some light marks, wear and patina may be present on the upholstery and frame, consistent with age and use. Please see the photos.
Ideal for
Boardrooms, meeting rooms, dining tables and executive spaces.

About Herman Miller ▾
Founded in 1905 in Zeeland, Michigan, Herman Miller became one of the world's most important furniture makers by partnering with visionary designers. Its long-time design director George Nelson brought in Charles and Ray Eames and Isamu Noguchi, and the company later reinvented office work itself with the Action Office (1968), the origin of the modern workstation. Herman Miller pieces are built for commercial use and made to last decades.
