The Posa Armchair by B&B Italia was designed by British architect David Chipperfield in 2008. It takes its name from the Marquis von Posa, the idealistic hero of Schiller’s play Don Carlos, and was developed while Chipperfield was designing seating for the St. Louis Art Museum extension.
The brief was versatile, robust seating with a sense of refined luxury. Thin upholstered sections sit on a light, dynamic internal steel frame, finished with a bright brushed aluminium lower edge, giving the Posa clean architectural lines and generous comfort without bulk.
This example is upholstered in soft ash grey leather, and suits living areas, executive offices and boutique interiors.
Condition
Used, in very good condition. Professionally cleaned. Some minor wear consistent with use. Leather is a natural material, so creases, colour variation and patina are part of its character, not defects.
