Furniture Hire Terms
These terms apply to all furniture hired from Enjoy Seconds.
Hire Fees & Security Deposit
Hire pricing is calculated as a percentage of the item’s listed selling price based on the agreed hire period. The hire fee is non-refundable.
The hire rates are:
- Up to 3 days: 25% of the item’s listed selling price
- Up to 1 week: 30% of the item’s listed selling price
- Up to 2 weeks: 35% of the item’s listed selling price
A refundable security deposit equal to the remaining value of the item’s listed selling price is also required and is held as protection against damage, loss, or excessive wear.
Example:
If an item has a listed selling price of $2,000 and the 3-day hire rate is 25%, the hire fee is $500. The remaining $1,500 is held as a refundable security deposit and returned once the item is received back in the same condition it was supplied.
Condition on Hire
All items are supplied in clean, presentable condition and may show signs of prior use consistent with pre-loved furniture. Items are inspected prior to hire.
Use & Care
Hired items are intended for indoor use unless agreed otherwise in writing. Items must be handled with reasonable care at all times and used only for their intended purpose. Items must not be modified, altered, or repaired by the hirer.
Collection, Delivery & Responsibility
Responsibility for the item transfers to the hirer from the time of collection or delivery and remains with the hirer until the item is returned and accepted back. If a third-party courier or removalist is used at the hirer’s request, the item remains the hirer’s responsibility during transit.
Returns
Items must be returned on the agreed return date and in the same condition they were supplied, fair wear from normal use excepted. Late returns may incur additional hire charges.
Damage, Repairs & Missing Parts
Any damage, required repair, missing component, or excessive wear beyond normal use may result in repair or replacement costs. The cost of any repair work or replacement of missing parts will be deducted from the refundable security deposit. Where repair is not possible, the item may be deemed a total loss and charged at its full replacement value.
Cleaning
Items must be returned clean and free of spills, marks, odours, or residue. If professional cleaning or detailing is required due to misuse or excessive soiling, the cost may be deducted from the refundable security deposit.
Inspection & Assessment
All items are inspected upon return. If any issues are identified, they will be documented and communicated to the hirer. Assessment of damage, repairs, cleaning, or replacement requirements is at the discretion of Enjoy Seconds.
Refund of Security Deposit
The refundable security deposit will be returned once the item has been inspected and confirmed to be in acceptable condition, less any deductions for damage, repairs, missing parts, cleaning, or late return fees. Refund timeframes may vary depending on inspection and any required work.
Acceptance of Terms
By proceeding with a hire, the hirer acknowledges and agrees to these Damage & Hire Terms.
