It began as outdoor seating for the J. Irwin Miller house in Columbus, Indiana, at the request of architect Eero Saarinen and designer Alexander Girard.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eInstead of a padded shell, the seat is a single sling stretched between two aluminium side ribs, so it gives slightly under your weight. That is how the chair stays so slim.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis is the EA331 with arms, made in 2011, in ribbed black leather with a polished aluminium frame. It swivels on a five-star base with castors, at a fixed height with no tilt.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCondition\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003ePre-owned. Each chair varies slightly. Overall good used condition, with some minor scratches around the arms. See photos.
